The Cessna 525B Citation CJ3, manufactured by Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, began production in December 2004, sharing its assembly line with the CJ1+ and CJ2+ models. This aircraft made its first flight on April 17, 2003, representing a significant evolution in the Citation series.
It is essentially an extended version of the Citation CJ2+, featuring more powerful Williams engines, an increased wingspan, and advanced Collins avionics. These enhancements were designed to offer superior performance and an optimized flight experience for passengers and crew alike.
Enhanced Comfort and Interior Design
To boost internal comfort, the passenger cabin was extended by nearly 60 cm compared to the CJ2+’s, while retaining its designated passenger capacity. This additional space allowed for a small galley area in the front and a compact lavatory combined with a wardrobe in the rear of the cabin.
The aircraft’s baggage compartment, providing a total volume of 1.8 m³, is located in the tail section and is not accessible from the cabin. This design ensures security and efficient use of space during flights.
Advanced Flight Technology
The modern Collins Pro Line 21 flight and navigation equipment, installed on the CJ3, ensures maximum situational awareness for the crew. This sophisticated system meticulously monitors all flight information, movement, and weather conditions, enhancing flight safety and operational efficiency.
Furthermore, the CJ3 is equipped with two Williams FJ44-3A turbofan engines, managed by an automatic FADEC system with two independent fuel systems. FADEC simplifies engine control and synchronization, guaranteeing proper power output, maximizing fuel efficiency, and significantly reducing pilot workload.
Commercial Information
In its standard configuration, the price of the Cessna Citation CJ3 was reported as 7,487,000 US dollars in 2008.
