Early Military Career
Born in 1893, Reinholds Cielmins was a graduate of the Moscow Flight School. He fought on the fronts of the First World War and subsequently for the Bolsheviks. Cielmins commanded the 46th (later 3rd) Red Air Division, which primarily operated in Lithuania and Poland.
Return to Latvia and Civilian Aviation
After the war, Cielmins returned to Latvia. There, he became involved in civilian aviation, flying first with an aeroclub and later with Aizsargu Aviacija.
A Record-Breaking Jump
On September 25, 1938, at the age of 45, Reinholds Cielmins achieved a notable feat: he became the oldest person in Latvia to successfully complete a parachute jump. No further information about his later life is available.
