BETAB-500U

Key Targets and Design

The BETAB-500U concrete-penetrating aerial bomb is specifically engineered to neutralize critical hardened targets. Its primary function is the destruction of underground nuclear weapon depots, ammunition and fuel/lubricant storage facilities, and vital command and control centers. It also targets communication nodes and various reinforced concrete structures.

This includes aircraft shelters, taxiways, and even sections of highways, making it a versatile weapon for disabling enemy infrastructure. The bomb’s robust design allows it to effectively pierce through formidable defenses to reach its intended targets.

Performance Specifications

The BETAB-500U boasts impressive penetration capabilities, able to breach up to 3 meters of soil or 1.2 meters of reinforced concrete. This allows it to reach deeply buried facilities, ensuring significant damage. Its operational versatility is notable, as it can be deployed from a wide range of altitudes.

Pilots can deploy the BETAB-500U from heights spanning 150 to 20,000 meters. Furthermore, it maintains its effectiveness across a broad speed envelope, capable of being used from aircraft traveling at 500 to 2,300 km/h, making it suitable for various air platforms and tactical scenarios.
