BH-23

The BH-23 was a fighter aircraft developed by the Czechoslovak company Avia. Inspired by the success of their two-seat BH-23 training aircraft, designers Pavel Beneš and Miroslav Hajn decided to convert the aircraft into a fighter once again, but this time for night operations.

Development and Design

Designated as BH-22N or BH-23, the aircraft was equipped with two synchronized 7.7-mm Vickers machine guns and special night lights.

Performance and Outcome

During testing, the aircraft achieved a speed of 210 km/h. However, its flight characteristics did not impress the command of the Czechoslovak Air Force, leading to the production of only two examples of the aircraft.
