BH-4

The BH-4 was a fighter aircraft developed by the Czechoslovakian company Avia. Building upon the successful design of the BH-3, the company’s engineers created an aircraft prototype, which initially received the designation B-HS-3.

Design and Engine Integration

This prototype was a result of installing a 220-horsepower eight-cylinder Hispano-Suiza 8ba engine onto the BH-3 in 1922. Alongside modifications to the fuselage, the landing gear also underwent certain refinements.

Performance and Outcome

However, the aircraft’s characteristics only deteriorated after these changes. Consequently, the project was limited to just a single prototype, and it did not proceed to series production.
