Caudron C.251 ET.2

To replace the C.59 trainer aircraft, Société des Avions Caudron developed the new Caudron C.251 ET.2 intermediate training aircraft in 1930. This model was designed for pilot training, aiming to enhance the capabilities of existing trainers.
Design and Propulsion
The aircraft was a classic single-strut biplane, featuring a wooden frame and fabric covering. For its powerplant, it used a 240 hp (180 kW) Lorraine 7Me Mizar seven-cylinder air-cooled radial engine, complemented by a Townend ring. The C.251 was equipped with standard dual controls, making it suitable for instructional purposes.
Trials and Legacy
The C.251 made its first flight in the first half of 1931, and in October of the same year, it was handed over for military trials at Villacoublay. Despite its trials, the machine did not enter series production. The single manufactured unit was eventually transferred to the aviation school in Istre.
