In 1989, Cessna announced the creation of the Model 525 Citation, which represented an evolution of the Model 500 Citation I. This aircraft features a shorter fuselage, a smaller span wing with laminar flow, a T-tail, a pressurized cabin, and Williams-Rolls FJ44 turbofan engines with 8.45 kN of thrust.
