Classic

The Classic is a light multi-purpose aircraft manufactured by the Canadian company Fisher Flying Products (FFP). It was developed by Michael E. Fisher. The prototype made its first flight in 1987, and in the same year, the aircraft was introduced to the general public.

Design and Specifications

Based on the F-404, the Classic is a two-seater wooden single-strut biplane. It is equipped with a Rotax 277 piston engine delivering 28 hp (21 kW). The FP-404 EXP variant can be fitted with a Rotax 582LC engine producing 65 hp (48 kW).

Assembly Kits and Production

The Classic aircraft is produced in the form of self-assembly kits. According to Fisher Flying Products, a complete assembly of the aircraft requires approximately 400-500 hours, or 250 hours for a quick-build kit. By 2011, over 155 units of the aircraft had been produced.

In 2020, a self-assembly kit for the Classic could be purchased for US$13,640, or the quick-build kit for US$19,470. A complete set of blueprints was also available for US$400.
