Development and Initial Success

The first truly successful project of the Italian aircraft manufacturing company Cantieri Aeronautici Bergamaschi (CAB) was the SC.4 training aircraft. Its development was led by engineer Carlo Maria Calligaris.

Technical Specifications

The aircraft prototype was tested in 1929. It was a two-seat, single-strut biplane, equipped with a six-cylinder V-type water-cooled Isotta Fraschini V.6 engine producing 250 hp.

Production and Service Life

In 1929, two aircraft, I-AACS and I-AACT, were built, and seven more machines followed the next year. Subsequently, the Breda company undertook the licensed production of the aircraft. Under the Breda SC.4 brand, an additional 43 training aircraft were produced. Some of these were equipped with radial engines of the same power. Most SC.4s were scrapped by 1935.
