Bellanca CE

Origins and Design Enhancements
In 1919, Giuseppe Mario Bellanca refined his Bellanca CD project for the Maryland Pressed Steel Company. The new aircraft, designated Bellanca CE, featured wing ailerons, two crew cabins, and a more powerful 55-horsepower Anzani engine.
Limited Production and Notable Owners
Only two such aircraft were built. One was purchased in May 1920 by pilot Clarence Duncan Chamberlin for 4,000 US dollars, following the bankruptcy of Maryland Pressed Steel. The second unit was modified into the sports version, the CE Sport (302V).
