Development of the Bellanca T14-14

In 1940, the American company Bellanca developed, on its own initiative, the Bellanca T14-14 primary trainer aircraft. This project aimed to offer a suitable aircraft for initial pilot training.

Design and Technical Specifications

The machine was a wooden cantilever low-wing monoplane, designed to be robust and easy to handle. It was equipped with a 120 hp Franklin 6AC-298 piston engine driving a two-bladed propeller. These characteristics made it ideal for primary training tasks.

The U.S. Air Force Competition

Only a single prototype of the aircraft was built, bearing the serial number NX/N28994. Despite its promising design, the T14-14 entered and ultimately lost the U.S. Air Force competition to the successful Fairchild PT-19 Cornell, which limited its production to just this single prototype.
