Breda CC.20

The CC.20 was a heavy bomber developed by the Italian firm Breda. This project, designed by engineers Arturo Cocco and Giulio Constanzi, marked Breda’s first monoplane bomber.

Development and Maiden Flight

The prototype, equipped with three 500 hp Isotta-Fraschini Asso engines, made its maiden flight in 1929. This milestone represented a significant step for Breda in military aircraft design.

Armament and Project Termination

The aircraft boasted very powerful armament, featuring one 25 mm cannon and seven 7.7 mm machine guns. However, tests revealed that the bomber suffered from low speed and limited range, leading to the termination of funding for the project and its subsequent abandonment.
