Breguet Br.330

The Br.330 was a short-range reconnaissance and light bomber developed by the French firm Societé Anonyme des Atelliers d’Aviation Louis Breguet. It represented a further evolution of the Breguet Br.27 reconnaissance bomber.

Essentially, the Br.330 was an improved Bre.270, featuring a slightly redesigned fuselage and an HS 12Nb engine equipped with a three-bladed propeller. Furthermore, it boasted enhanced armament, including an additional machine gun, and an increased bomb load capability of up to 400 kilograms. The prototype’s maiden flight took place in January 1931.

Design and Technical Innovations

Only two units of the aircraft were ever produced. During tests conducted in 1931, the Br.330 failed to demonstrate any significant advantages over existing series-produced aircraft, thus preventing its entry into mass production.

Notable Flight Achievements

Nevertheless, in January 1932, one of the two prototypes, designated Bre.330Bn.1, was modernized for long-range flights. This aircraft participated in an epoch-making journey for French aviation, flying from Paris to Hanoi and back, marking a significant milestone in aviation history.
