Brumby 610 Evolution

In the 2010s, the Australian company Brumby Aircraft Australia introduced its new light multi-purpose aircraft, the Brumby 610 Evolution. This machine is a further development of the Brumby 600 model. The first flight of the Brumby 610 took place in March 2011, marking its entry into aviation.

Serial LSA-class aircraft can be supplied fully assembled or as kits for self-assembly, offering flexibility to customers. The Brumby 610 is designed for use as a sport and training aircraft, highlighting its versatility and ease of operation.

Technical Specifications

The Brumby 610 is an all-metal high-wing monoplane, featuring tricycle landing gear with a nose wheel. Its cockpit configuration offers side-by-side seating, optimizing space and interaction between occupants. The aircraft can be equipped with 100-116 hp Lycoming IO-233 engines, or 100 hp Rotax 912ULS or Rotax 912iS engines.

The maximum takeoff weight of the aircraft is 600 kg, with an empty weight of 370 kg, emphasizing its lightness and efficiency. Its instrumentation allows for day and night flights under visual conditions, extending its operational range.

International Agreement

In 2019, Brumby Aircraft signed a $50 million contract with the Chinese concern AVIC. This strategic agreement entails the creation of a joint venture in the People’s Republic of China for the production of two-seat light sport aircraft models Brumby 600 and 610. The 10,000 sq m factory will be located in Fujian province, in eastern China.

The 40-year deal projects the production of 280 aircraft within the first four years of the enterprise’s operation. All these aircraft will be supplied to the local market and used for training purposes. Machines for the Australian and New Zealand markets, made from components produced in China, will be assembled in Australia, where engines, avionics, and interiors will be installed.
