Caudron C.320

Initial Development of the Caudron C.320
In 1932, the Caudron company proactively released a new intermediate training aircraft, the Caudron C.320. This machine was designed by Paul Deville as an adaptation of the C.59 model.
Specifications and Origin
The C.320 was configured to incorporate a 230 hp Renault 9A nine-cylinder radial engine. Several units of this aircraft were manufactured by remotorizing the existing C.59 model.
Testing and Outcomes
After completing an exhaustive testing cycle, it became clear that no significant increase in the desired flight characteristics had been achieved. Due to this lack of performance improvement, the aircraft were reverted to their original configuration, the C.59 standard, by reinstalling the 180 hp Hispano-Suiza 8Ab engine.
