Colt

The Colt is a light multi-purpose aircraft, developed by the American aerospace company Texas Aircraft Manufacturing. The chief designer of the project, Brazilian Caio Jordão, based the project on his Inpaer Conquest 180 design, adapting it to American S-LSA (Special Light Sport Aircraft) requirements.

The first prototype of the aircraft took off in 2018 and was presented to the public in July of the following year. It was a two-seater, all-metal, braced high-wing monoplane, equipped with a four-cylinder Rotax 912ULS engine rated at 100 hp (75 kW) with a three-blade composite Sterna Propeller.

Cockpit Design and Features

The comfortable cabin (1.2 meters high, 1.09 meters wide), with side-by-side seating, is equipped with a Dynon SkyView HDX avionics suite. A small baggage compartment allows for carrying up to 20 kilograms.

Variants and Availability

The Colt-S version is equipped with a modern ballistic parachute, while the Colt-SL version features enhanced comfort. The first production aircraft was delivered to a customer in February 2020. The cost of one aircraft in 2019 was 167,000 US dollars.
