Stanisław Blok

Stanisław Blok graduated from flight school in Dęblin in 1937. He fought in France and, from July 1941, joined the Royal Air Force (RAF).

He was initially assigned to the 164 Squadron. However, due to disciplinary reasons, he was transferred to a unit based in the Northern British Isles, having been punished for a fight over a woman.

Service in the Royal Air Force

In 1943, holding the rank of Flight Lieutenant, Blok participated in combat operations over France as part of the 315th “City of Dęblin” Squadron.

Combat Record and Awards

He completed over 200 combat sorties, during which he personally shot down 5 aircraft, 1 in a group, and presumably damaged 3 others. He was awarded the Polish Srebrny Krzyż Virtuti Militari and the British DFC (Distinguished Flying Cross).

After the war, Stanisław Blok remained in the United Kingdom.
