Václav Brejcha

Early Life and Service in France

Václav Brejcha was born on December 13, 1915, in Žitovice. During World War II, he served in France, flying with Groupe de Chasse III./10 from May 27 to June 4, 1940. Following this, he joined Groupe de Chasse I./4, serving with them from June 4 to July 1, 1940.

Career with the Royal Air Force (RAF)

Brejcha moved to Great Britain in August 1940, continuing his military career with the Royal Air Force. There, he flew with purely British squadrons, initially with No. 43 Squadron and subsequently with No. 257 Squadron. Tragically, Václav Brejcha was killed on June 19, 1941, during an aerial battle.

Aircraft Flown and Aerial Victory

Throughout his career, Brejcha mastered various aircraft types, including the Marcel Bloch M.B.152C.1, the Curtiss Hawk H.75C.1, and the Tiger Moth Mk.I. He also piloted the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I (registrations P3705, DT-B; and V6864, DT-A). His sole confirmed wartime aerial victory, achieved as part of a group, was the downing of a Do-17Z II./KG2 on February 4, 1941, at 9:25 AM, while flying a Hurricane Mk.I (P3705, DT-B).
