Innovative Design and Development

The Comp Air 12 is a light, multi-purpose, all-composite aircraft manufactured by the American aerospace corporation Comp Air Inc. During its development, aircraft builders leveraged previous experience, significantly standardizing the main elements of this aircraft.

This standardization led to a reduction in costs (approximately 2-3%) and assembly time, which ranges between 850-900 hours. The Comp Air 12 made its first flight on April 14, 2007, with design work having been carried out for almost two years.

The primary reason for the aircraft’s development was the need to supply the US light aviation market with spacious light aircraft, a category to which the Comp Air 12 belongs.

Exceptional Performance

Currently, the Comp Air 12 stands as the fastest aircraft among the turboprop family produced by the American aerospace company Comp Air Inc. Thanks to its powerful Honeywell TPE331-14GR engine, capable of developing 1650 hp, the aircraft can cover long distances.

Its maximum flight range is 4695 kilometers, with a maximum flight speed of 580 km/h. This allows for extremely fast travel even on extended routes and segments. Furthermore, an improved fuselage shape provides the aircraft with lower aerodynamic drag, which, while not affecting fuel consumption, ensures higher maneuverability.

Versatility and Commercial Applications

Depending on the cabin configuration, the Comp Air 12 can accommodate up to 11 people, including one pilot, plus 227 kg of baggage. This versatility allows the aircraft to be operated for commercial purposes, particularly for passenger transport on local and regional air routes, as a business aviation aircraft, or an air taxi.

Most manufactured aircraft are equipped with ten passenger seats; however, if the aircraft is intended for business aviation, the cabin is configured with eight passenger seats. It is important to note that the aircraft is not suitable for cargo transport due to the difficulty and impracticality of dismounting passenger seats, despite having an actual payload capacity of up to 2232 kilograms.
