Development and Origins

The BX-2 Cherry is a light multi-purpose aircraft, developed by the Swiss aircraft designer Max Brändli. The prototype’s maiden flight took place on April 24, 1982.

Technical Specifications and Powerplant

The Brändli BX-2 Cherry is a two-seater, cantilever low-wing monoplane, equipped with a four-cylinder Teledyne Continental C90 engine delivering 90 hp (67 kW) with a two-bladed propeller. Alternative power plants include the Limbach L.2400, Rotax 912, and even a BMW R1200GS motorcycle engine.

Availability and Production

The BX-2 Cherry is offered to purchasers as a complete set of drawings. By 2010, 100 examples of the aircraft had been built across numerous European countries, as well as in Russia.
