In 1934, American engineer W.R. Clinger from Grandville, Michigan, designed and built a light aircraft named the Clinger CL-1. This unique aircraft was a two-seat, single-strut biplane.
Design and Technical Specifications
It was equipped with a 90 hp Curtiss OX-5 piston engine, featuring a pusher propeller configuration. Only one instance of this aircraft, serial number 14149, was ever built.
Seaplane Capability
A notable aspect of the Clinger CL-1’s design was its capability to take off from water, making it a versatile light aircraft for its time.
