Origin and Development

The Colombo is a light multi-purpose aircraft, designed by Italian engineer Marino Bagalini. Project development began in the mid-1980s. The aircraft was offered as a set of drawings for self-assembly. Colombo drawings first became available starting in 1986.

Technical Specifications

The Bagalini Colombo aircraft is a two-seater, strut-braced high-wing monoplane with an open cockpit. It is equipped with a two-cylinder, two-stroke Rotax 447 engine delivering 40 hp (30 kW) with a two-bladed propeller. As an alternative powerplant, the Rotax 503 with 50 hp or the Rotax 582 with 65 hp can be used.

Ease of Assembly

The simple design of the aircraft allows for the complete assembly of the structure from a kit in just 700 hours.
