Development and Purpose

In the late 1920s, René Couzinet began designing transport aircraft, in parallel with his pioneering work on long-distance planes. The Couzinet 21 emerged as the first model in this new line, conceived primarily for efficient mail transport.

Technical Specifications and Testing

This aircraft was a three-seater, wooden low-wing monoplane, powered by three Walter Vega I engines, each delivering 85 hp. Its maiden flight occurred in February 1931. However, testing quickly revealed that the engine power was significantly insufficient, a critical flaw that ultimately led to no orders being placed for the aircraft.
