In 1923, Ernst von Loessl, chief designer at Hanseatische Flugzeugwerke Karl Caspar AG, developed a light transport aircraft project. The sole prototype of this aircraft, designated CLE.12, was displayed at the Aviation Exhibition in Gothenburg in July 1923.
Design and Specifications
The CLE.12 was a nine-seater, wooden high-wing monoplane. It was equipped with a 260 hp Maybach Mb IVa engine.
Unrealized Potential
Despite its exhibition, the CLE.12 never took to the air. Due to several difficulties, this ambitious light transport project ultimately failed to fly.
